Friday Homework for Lesson 23 - Whipped Running Stitch

This is my homework for Sunday Stitch Nursery School.

I made curved lines with cups and plates, stitched Running Stitches in lime green on those lines and then Whipped them with a variety of fancy threads, mainly in orange.

 The fabric puckered beautifully.
Child's play or contemporary art?

A bit of both, maybe?

Lots of lovely textures, anyway...

I didn't want to spend too much time and effort on this stitch, so I'll call it kid's play!

Have been thinking of you with every stitchery and tapestry I have seen while away. I like the puckering. Are you going to put each lesson into a book? Can see a lovely embroidery journal at the end.

I'd say it could be either.

That's the charm of running stitch, it can be so simple and yet so sophisticated.
